After a long wait, the moment has arrived—when a part of you finally emerges and meets a world you have lovingly prepared. Like pregnancy, birth is something each couple experiences differently. We can’t foresee much, but there is one thing we can be sure about before it happens: it will be an instant that will change everything. And, perhaps, that is why it is worth keeping it in our memory.

My job is to be by your side through this journey. To be the vessel that receives e very detail that could otherwise slip away due to the overwhelming sensations. I will be there before, during, and after the birth to preserve the beauty of your moment. I will lend you a hand whenever you need it, but I will stay in my place –with my camera and senses wide open– so that this moment is entirely yours. I want you to remember your strength and tears, the love and companionship with which your baby came into the world and took the first breath.

  • After you reach out to me with your due date information I will confirm availability and we will be setting up a meeting (in person, via zoom, or phone call, your choice!) to answer any questions you may have. Once you’re ready to move forward we will take care of your contract and $500 retainer fee. I don’t have a set payment schedule because I like to work out the details with each client depending on individual needs and situation. Once we are all set I will always be available via text or email to answer any questions that arise. Birth talk is my favorite so I’m always happy to chat! I will then be 100% on call starting at 37 weeks and until you go into labor. I will stay until after your baby’s exam (weight, measurements, vitals, etc.) and until I have enough photos of your first moments together as a family.

  • Every birth story is different, and that is an understatement! However, I like to aim for a gallery of at least 80 amazing photographs. A lot of times, especially when births are long, I am able to capture far beyond 80 photos but I always set the expectation for a gallery of at least 80 photos.

  • My contract states 8 weeks but I always make an effort to deliver earlier than that; whenever it’s within my possibilities I do. Most times I also deliver a few announcement sneak peek photos within 24 hours of birth so that you can share the news with your friends and family if you wish.

  • My camera is equipped to handle low light situations. However, moms often like to labor in darkness (totally normal!). In these situations I try to create a dim source of light nearby so that I can work with just the right amount of it, but sometimes it’s not enough. In this case I would use my flash. Do not worry though, I have actually never had a mom tell me that using flash during labor actually bothered her! This is something we will discuss in length during our initial meeting so that you are completely comfortable with anything I will be doing during your birth.

  • Precipitous birth happens. If this is the case I will come to you no matter what. Everything that happens right after your baby is born is just as beautiful and important as labor and birth itself! I will be there to document your first moments as a family and also your baby’s exam.

  • Yes, I do! I have never actually needed her to help me out at a birth, but I do keep in touch with her about my clients’ due dates in case of an emergency/if your birth ends up being extremely long and I need someone to step in for me so I can rest for a few hours.

  • That will be entirely up to you. I never post anything that moms are uncomfortable with being posted. Some moms are all for it, and some moms want nothing online. We will talk about this piece thoroughly during our first meeting as well as throughout your pregnancy and after your gallery is delivered. I will never post anything without your consent.

  • This is another item we would be covering during our first meeting! I will follow your lead 100% I can use different angles to make your gallery more modest if that’s something that’s important to you, or if you’d rather have photos of your baby crowning, that’s something I can do as well! Every mom’s preferences are different and I really like to listen to what is important to you.

  • Duration of labor is beyond anyone's control so I never apply any additional charges for longer labors, nor do I offer discounts for shorter ones. I have a fixed, all-inclusive rate for all birth stories. While I maintain the option to bring in a backup photographer after 12 hours, I've never had to do so! To make sure that I arrive at the perfect moment when you're in active labor, I encourage regular updates on your progress. We will also cover this during our meeting!

When we remember, we think in images. To remember is to imagine something that has happened, that has changed. When it comes to the ones we love, we want to rememb er each stage, the things that transform, and those that stay the same. Given the i mperfection of memory, I am here to help you preserve and treasure the best of your family with photographs that will stand the test of time.

The first years, the first steps, and the first parties; the feelings of joy and wonder that are always present when kids are around. I want you to be able to revisit the shared happiness and cherish each transformation [since they are way more noticeable when you look back!]. Photographs can’t stop time, but they can prevent the details from fading. And, from my lens, I’ll capture each one.

FAQS

  • My standard photoshoot is about 30 min. long and includes one location, and one outfit. If you would like to upgrade your shoot and make it longer, add an outfit change, etc. please let me know and I can build a custom package for you!

  • Your balance will be due right after we are done shooting. You will have a balance on your initial invoice so you can go ahead and pay it from there when you get home or right after we are done

    shooting.

  • This can somewhat vary depending on different factors such as location, the amount of people around us at the time of shooting, weather, number of outfits, length of shoot, etc. For a standard 30 min shoot I will deliver a gallery with at least 35 photos. This number could be higher depending on the aforementioned factors, but the minimum amount of photos you will receive is 35.

  • In the event of bad weather we can use your retainer fee to reschedule your shoot for a date that works for both of us. The balance will then be due on the day of the rescheduled shoot.

  • I have created an outfit guide here to give you some ideas, but generally I advise to wear something cute/nice that you are very comfortable in! Long and flowy dresses/skirts are always so flattering and look amazing in photos.

  • For a standard photoshoot my turnaround time is 2 weeks. However, the amount of time it will take me to edit and finalize your photographs will likely increase if we upgrade your shoot to a longer one.

  • No, because part of my job and creative process is to cull through and select the photographs that are most flattering (no blinking, no motion, no blurriness, etc.), I will not be withholding any good photographs from you. Your gallery will hold all of the good images I capture during your shoot.

  • Because social media and my website are the primary platforms through which I promote my services, I heavily depend on sharing my work to attract new clients. This is why there is a fee associated with waiving my right to share these files (it is worth noting that this isn’t the case for my birth photography services). If you are interested in this option, please feel free to ask for more details.

BEREAVEMENT SERVICES

My hope is that you didn’t land on my website because you’ve been struck with loss… but if you have been, please know that I am here for you.

I have personally experienced the comfort and closure that bereavement photography grants, after my own losses in 2023. The few images that I have of each baby’s funeral are amongst the very few tangible items I own that I am able to hold on to and look back at when I am thinking of my babies. You are not alone and I am here for you every step of the way.

Because my bereavement services are free of charge, my availability is limited. However, please reach out to me if you need help during this time. My prayer is that God will allow me to be there for you and your family.

  • Ren did such a phenomenal job capturing the birth of our daughter. I was amazed at how well she captured the raw moments as well as smaller details. She had the utmost respect for the birth process and was able to operate discreetly yet capture every moment. In addition, she had a very quick turn around providing us the photos.
